The Yamaha QL series is a pair of compact, Dante-equipped digital consoles. The QL5 mixes 64 mono and 8 stereo inputs on 32+2 faders. The QL1 mixes 32 mono and 8 stereo inputs on 16+2 faders. Both have 16 Mix buses, 8 Matrices, 16 DCA groups and 300 scene memories. They also share a 10-inch touch panel and an RJ-45 NETWORK connector for QL Editor and QL StageMix. Yamaha now lists the QL series as discontinued. Still, specs and downloads remain on its site. Showcaller AI controls the Yamaha QL series by voice or chat.

### How Showcaller connects to the Yamaha QL series

Showcaller uses that NETWORK connector, through the Showcaller Bridge App on the show network. It speaks Yamaha’s native remote control protocol on TCP port 49280. No login is needed. Then the operator asks in plain words. For example, **mute the lectern** or **Mix 3 up 2 dB**. They can also say **turn off the guitar send to Mix 7** or **DCA 4 down 3 dB**. Showcaller reads every change back from the console before it reports it done. If the console disagrees, it says so. The [Yamaha mixer integration](/integrations/yamaha-mixer/) page lists every function.

### Scene recall on QL consoles

Like the CL series, the QL supports scene recall in Showcaller. The DM3, DM7 and Rivage PM do not. On the Enterprise plan, Showcaller recalls a stored scene after the operator confirms it. It can also report which scene the console last recalled. When the console reports it, Showcaller says whether the mix has changed since. As a result, a show with a scene per segment becomes a few short requests.

### Tool Functions by plan

Starter covers input faders and mutes, the Main Stereo master and the Mix bus masters, with reads for each. Pro adds Matrix masters and DCA groups. It also adds each input’s send level and on/off state to a Mix bus. The QL5 and QL1 use the same Tool Functions. They differ only in input count, fader count and local I/O. The QL1 can also be rack mounted with the RK1 kit. For full specs, see Yamaha’s [QL series page](https://usa.yamaha.com/products/proaudio/mixers/ql_series/index.html).
