Showcaller Now Talks to Ubiquiti AV

Showcaller now manages UniFi gateways and Pro/Pro Max switches by voice — PoE, VLANs, port profiles, and the IGMP multicast tuning that fixes most mystery NDI dropouts.

Most of what Showcaller controls is the gear you can see — cameras, mixers, lighting consoles. This one’s different. Ubiquiti AV support means Showcaller can now reach into the network layer underneath all of it, managing UniFi gateways and Pro/Pro Max switches directly through the UniFi Network controller.

What the Ubiquiti AV integration actually covers

Every show running on IP video, NDI, or networked audio depends on a layer almost nobody talks about until it breaks. This integration covers the specific things that actually go wrong on that layer: PoE budgets, port profiles, VLAN assignment, and — for anyone running multicast video over the network — IGMP multicast tuning. That last one matters more than it sounds like it should. A misbehaving IGMP configuration is one of the most common, least obvious reasons an NDI source drops or a multicast stream just stops showing up where it’s supposed to, and it’s exactly the kind of problem that eats fifteen minutes of a show with the wrong tool.

With Ubiquiti AV connected, you can ask Showcaller for the state of that infrastructure directly — without pulling up a separate network dashboard mid-show. And because it goes through the same Pulse awareness as everything else Showcaller watches, that state is already known before you ask.
