Air Check
Glass-box, not black-box.
“Air check” is an old broadcast term — a recording kept specifically to prove what actually went to air. Showcaller’s version does the same job for your entire show, automatically. Every state change, every command, every confirmation, every word said — captured into one permanent timeline, kept forever.
What actually gets recorded
Every state change to your connected gear. Every command sent and every Tally confirmation that followed it. Every connection going online or offline. Every error. Full transcripts of everything said to Showcaller during the show. None of this has to be turned on — it’s running in the background of every show, by default.
Why this is different from a normal log
Most systems log what they were told to do. Air Check logs what actually happened, because every entry in it is tied to the same verified state Tally confirms in real time. It’s not a reconstruction pieced together after the fact — it’s the same record the system was using to run the show in the first place.
How long it’s kept
Permanently. Nothing in Air Check is auto-deleted. Every show stays in your history, which means you can pull up any moment from any show, whenever you need it — not just the next day, not just this season.
Why this matters more than it sounds like it should
Most of the time, nobody looks at this. Then something goes wrong — a client asks what happened during a specific moment, or a recurring glitch needs a root cause — and the difference between “we think this is what happened” and “here’s exactly what happened, timestamped” is the difference between a guess and an answer.
Nothing about your show has to be taken on faith
