Overview
The Behringer X32 Compact with Showcaller
The Behringer X32 Compact puts the full X32 mix engine in a smaller desk. It has 32 input channels, 8 aux channels and 8 FX return channels. It also has 16 aux buses, 6 matrices and main LRC. On the surface there are 17 motorized faders, 17 channel LCD scribble strips and a 7-inch screen. Local I/O is 16 Midas-designed preamps and 8 XLR outputs. In addition, two AES50 ports take up to six S16 stage boxes. Showcaller AI runs the Behringer X32 Compact by voice or chat.
How Showcaller connects to the X32 Compact
The Compact has a rear-panel Ethernet port for remote control. Showcaller uses it through the Showcaller Bridge App on the show network, with OSC on port 10023. It is the same port the X32-Edit and X32-Mix apps use. Then a request in plain words becomes a Tool Function call. For example, say mute channel 12 or bus 4 down 3 dB. You can also say name channel 7 Pastor or recall scene 8. The Behringer X32 and Midas M32 integration page lists every Tool Function.
Scribble strips and preamps on the Behringer X32 Compact
The Compact’s 17 LCD scribble strips show channel names and colors. So when Showcaller renames a channel, the new name is on the strip. Renaming is on Starter, and strip colors are on Enterprise. Also, the 16 local XLR inputs are the Compact’s own preamps. On Pro, Showcaller sets and reads their gain and 48V phantom power. Phantom changes are confirmed with the operator first. Scene recall and save, and effects sends, are also confirmed before they are sent.
Tool Functions by plan
Starter covers channel faders, mutes and names on channels 1 to 32. It also covers the main stereo output and the 16 mix buses, with each channel’s send to them. Pro adds the 8 DCA groups and preamp gain and phantom power. It also adds polarity, high-pass filter, channel EQ, gate and compressor. Enterprise adds effects sends and returns, strip colors and scenes 0 to 99. That matches the Compact’s 100 scenes. For full specs, see Behringer’s X32 Compact product page.

FAQ
Questions about the Behringer X32 Compact
Does a channel name set by Showcaller show on the X32 Compact?
Yes. Showcaller renames the channel on the console, and the Compact shows channel names on its scribble strips. Renaming is on the Starter plan.
Which preamps can Showcaller adjust on the X32 Compact?
The preamp Tool Functions address the console's own preamps. On the Compact those are the 16 XLR inputs on the desk. Gain and phantom power need the Pro plan.
Can Showcaller recall scenes on the X32 Compact?
Yes, on the Enterprise plan. Showcaller recalls a saved scene (0-99, as numbered on the console) or saves the current state as a named scene. It asks you to confirm first.
Does Showcaller read gate settings back?
No. Showcaller can set a channel's gate. But the Get channel dynamics state Tool Function only reports whether the compressor is on.
Which Showcaller plan do I need?
Starter has 14 Tool Functions for diagnostics and channel faders, mutes and names. They also cover the main stereo output and the mix buses. Pro adds 17 more Tool Functions for DCA groups, preamps and input, and channel EQ. They also cover gates and compressors. Enterprise adds FX and advanced routing and scene management (7 more). Each plan includes the Tool Functions of the plans below it.
