Panasonic AW-UE80, AW-UE50 and AW-UE40
Showcaller AI runs the Panasonic AW-UE80, AW-UE50 and AW-UE40 by voice or chat. All three have a 24x optical zoom and a 4K sensor. They differ in outputs and NDI support, and the page covers what that means in Showcaller.

Overview
The Panasonic AW-UE80, AW-UE50 and AW-UE40 with Showcaller
The Panasonic AW-UE50 and AW-UE40 are compact 4K PTZ cameras for classrooms, briefings and event streams. Both have a 1/2.5-type 4K MOS sensor and a 24x optical zoom. They output 4K over HDMI and stream H.264 and H.265. In addition, the UE50 adds a 3G-SDI output. The AW-UE80 is a dome-shaped model with a quiet direct-drive motor. It shares the 24x zoom but adds NDI High Bandwidth. Showcaller AI runs the Panasonic AW-UE50, UE40 and UE80 as one model, by voice or chat.
How Showcaller connects to the Panasonic AW-UE50
Showcaller connects through the Showcaller Bridge App, a small app on a computer on the show network. It sends Panasonic’s own IP control commands over HTTP, on port 80 by default. Then the operator asks in plain words, by voice or in chat. For example, they can say camera 2, recall preset 4 or send camera 1 home. They can also say pan left slowly and then stop. Before it stores a preset, Showcaller asks the operator to confirm. After a move or a mode change, it reads the camera’s state back where the camera reports it.
What differs between the UE80, UE50 and UE40
Showcaller offers the same Tool Functions on all three. Still, the cameras support different streaming modes. The UE50 and UE40 offer NDI|HX2 only, and Panasonic notes an upgrade may be needed depending on purchase date. In contrast, the UE80 offers NDI High Bandwidth and NDI|HX2 as standard. All three list SRT and RTMP among their protocols. So ask Showcaller which modes the camera supports before you switch. It reads the camera’s own capability report. Every stream change waits for the operator to confirm it. Also, these cameras tilt from -30° to 90°, so a preset cannot point higher than straight up.
Tool Functions by plan
Starter covers camera status, presets 1 to 100, home and exact positioning, and reboot. It also covers every stream read. Pro adds pan, tilt and zoom at a chosen speed. It also adds focus and iris modes and the iris level. In addition, Pro adds stream mode, codec, NDI, bitrate, frame rate and resolution. Enterprise adds manual focus pulls, tally on or off and extra stream profiles. The Panasonic PTZ integration page lists every function. For full specs, see Panasonic’s AW-UE50 and AW-UE40 product page and the AW-UE80 page.
