Overview

The Panasonic AW-UR100 with Showcaller

The Panasonic AW-UR100 is an outdoor 4K PTZ camera. Panasonic rates it IP65 for water and dust. It works from -15 °C to 45 °C, and a wiper, heater and defroster come as standard. It has a 1/2.5-type 4K MOS sensor and a 24x optical zoom. It outputs 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI and SFP+ fiber. Over IP, it streams H.264, H.265, SRT and NDI, in High Bandwidth or NDI|HX2. Showcaller AI runs the Panasonic AW-UR100 by voice or chat over its LAN port.

Why the Panasonic AW-UR100 suits voice control

An outdoor camera often sits on a mast, a roof or a gantry. During a show, nobody stands next to it. So the operator needs a quick way to move it and check it. For instance, they can ask which preset the camera recalled last. They can also read its pan, tilt and lens position. That makes a remote check before a stream start much faster.

How Showcaller connects

Showcaller connects through the Showcaller Bridge App, a small app on a computer on the show network. It sends Panasonic’s own IP control commands over HTTP, on port 80 by default. Then the operator asks in plain words, by voice or in chat. For example, they can say camera 2, recall preset 4 or send camera 1 home. They can also say pan left slowly and then stop. Before it stores a preset, Showcaller asks the operator to confirm. After a move or a mode change, it reads the camera’s state back where the camera reports it.

Note what Showcaller does not do on this model. The wiper, washer, heater and defroster have no Tool Function. Run those from Panasonic’s own controllers or web interface instead.

Tool Functions by plan

Starter covers camera status, presets 1 to 100, home and exact positioning, and reboot. It also covers every stream read. Pro adds pan, tilt and zoom at a chosen speed. It also adds focus and iris modes and the iris level. In addition, Pro adds stream mode, codec, NDI, bitrate, frame rate and resolution. Enterprise adds manual focus pulls, tally on or off and extra stream profiles. The Panasonic PTZ integration page lists every function. For full specs, see Panasonic’s AW-UR100 product page.

What you can do

Run the Panasonic AW-UR100 by voice or chat

  • Presets and exact positions

Recall or store presets 1 to 100, send the camera home or move it to an exact pan and tilt position (Starter). Storing a preset is confirmed with you first.

  • Check a camera you cannot reach

Read the model, firmware, pan and tilt position, lens position, tally and the last recalled preset (Starter).

  • Pan, tilt and zoom by voice

Pan, tilt and zoom at a chosen speed until you say stop (Pro). Switch focus and iris between auto and manual and set the iris level (Pro).

  • NDI and SRT streams

Read the streaming modes the camera supports, then switch mode and set bitrate, frame rate and resolution (Pro). Each stream change is confirmed first.

  • Wiper and heater stay with Panasonic

The wiper, washer, heater and defroster have no Tool Function. Run them from Panasonic's own tools.
